Fire Alarm System Type (Grade D vs. Grade A) Explanation
Grade D: Typically found in smaller residential properties, this system consists of individual smoke alarms with built-in battery backup.
Grade A: Common in larger properties, HMOs (Houses in Multiple Occupation), houses and flats with more than 2 floors, and commercial buildings. This system includes a central control panel with multiple connected alarm points.
Note: For both Grade A and Grade D systems, you must include all your alarms in the inspection. Be sure to enter the total number of alarms or detectors in your property.
